Walmer Castle, Kent, in October

I have done blogs previously about Walmer castle, it is a favourite place for our family to visit which is great as we are within walking distance. It is lovely again now that we don't have to book to go round the Castle and gardens :)

We had some lovely weather in October, with the sun shining on quite a few days, so on one of those days I went up to the Castle and had a lovely hour or so wandering around. I also treated myself to a Cappuccino and a piece of yummy carrot cake :)

Autumn crocus' in full bloom in the woods.

The Queen Mother's Garden

I think this is a Red Dragonfly, it caught my eye because usually there are blue ones flitting round the pond in the Queen Mother's Garden

Lovely archway, again in the Queen Mother's Garden :)

The Queen Mother's Garden in its Autumn mode

This Holly tree has been pruned, and its new leaves are growing white as well as green. It looked very pretty :)

Looking towards the Picnic area, a couple sitting enjoying the sunshine and the peace and quiet.

The beautiful Autumn woods, lots of lovely leaves to walk through :)

Throughout the woods are wooden bird carvings, this one is a robin, complete with a yellow ladybird :)

The main lawn, showing its bronze plants in the flower beds.

Beautiful roses still in full bloom.

Lovely dahlias too.

The bee was enjoying visiting this flower :)

White Cosmos flowering in the long walk

Finally the creeper growing over the Bastion Walls.
I had a lovely walk, the Castle is now only open at weekends until the Spring, but I hope I will pay another visit very soon :)
