Misty

I have been trying to do a blog on Ely Cathedral, as usual I took way too many photos, which is taking me a long time to edit, so in the meantime I thought you might like to meet my lovely cat Misty.

Misty and her sister Sophie came to us aged 3 months, 13 years ago. They had been rescued from a home where they were being ill treated. They were scared, and spent the first few weeks hiding from all of us.

They had obviously been given a duvet to sleep on in the cats rescue centre because as soon as Misty found the duvets on the beds she decided that was the place to wee! There and in the corners of the sitting room! We soon got her out of that bad habit I am pleased to say.

Sophie was a lovely little cat and once she had settled down was friendly and just adorable, although she let Misty take first place in everything. Sadly she died when she was 5 due to kidney failure. Surprisingly once Sophie had gone Misty changed from being a jealous ‘grumpy’ cat, into being a lovely ‘only’ cat.

She loves the sun as you can see by the photos, and now she is getting old her preferred favourite place is my knee, where she makes a lovely hot water bottle! She has been a wonderful friend, I hope she will be with us for a few more years to come.
